Purdue defeated North Carolina State 63-50 in the national semifinals at State Farm Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The No. 1 seed Boilermakers are headed to their first national championship game since 1969, when they lost to UCLA. They have never won an NCAA Tournament title and will be aiming to do so just a year after losing to No. 16 seed, Fairleigh Dickinson, in the first round.
For the No. 11 seed Wolfpack, it was a disappointing end to a remarkable month of performances. They claimed an automatic bid to the tournament by winning the ACC Tournament with five wins in as many days. They then moved to the South Regional, upsetting No. 4 seed Duke in the Elite Eight. However, their performance fell two games short of the school's first title since 1983.
At the X, fans and media from both sides reacted to the predicted outcome.
